The owner of a bus company is accused of raping the girl and other crimes involving children, according to prosecutors.

BOSTON (AP) — A Quincy man accused of raping a 5-year-old girl he drove to day care has been ordered held without bail.

Prosecutors say 53-year-old Sergio Lara also was charged Monday with sexually assaulting another girl and other crimes involving two boys. Lara was the owner of a transportation company that drove the children to and from day care, according to authorities.

Prosecutors claim Lara picked up the alleged victim from day care on March 1. After dropping off some other children, he allegedly drove the girl to an undisclosed location where he raped her.

Lara allegedly told the girl not to tell anyone and promised to buy her favorite candy the next day. But the girl told her mother, who told police in Revere.

Lara's lawyer declined comment.
