The Zoning Board of Appeals failed to give owner Daniel Crespo the unanimous vote needed for him to set up shop on Doty Circle, but the board recently reversed itself.
Adults Only Video store at 74 Doty Circle in West Springfield.WEST SPRINGFIELD – Daniel A. Crespo recently reopened his Adults Only Video Store at 74 Doty Circle after having been out of business since the city forced him to close his previous quarters on Riverdale Street last fall.
Crespo had run the Adults Only Video Store for 16 years at 2025 Riverdale St. without incident until city officials discovered the site lacked the proper zoning for an adult business. They forced him to close down by Oct. 31, 2010.
Earlier this year, the Zoning Board of Appeals failed to give Crespo the unanimous vote needed for him to set up shop on Doty Circle, but the board reversed itself March 28. The city granted a building permit for the store March 31.
”It has been wonderful,” Crespo said of recently opening his business at the new location. “It is great to be back at the store and see a lot of old friends and make new friends.”
The store has several rooms filled with magazines, DVDs and various sexual novelty and other items. Crespo said at some point down the road he will stock costumes.
