SPRINGFIELD – As Wednesday's tornado left West Springfield and crossed the Connecticut River into Springfield, it started at the railroad bridge in the North End, crossed over the Memorial Bridge while still over the river, and then came into the city in the South End.
From there it bolted straight through the heart of the South End, Six Corners, East Forest Park and Sixteen Acres neighborhoods during its 39-mile trip of destruction.
Staff graphic artist Bob Rich prepared this map of the tornado's path through Springfield.
