Interfaith Tornado Healing Service
With Governor, Leaders on Wednesday, June 8
Springfield—Governor Deval Patrick, clergy from many faith traditions
and community leaders will gather for an interfaith service, “Prayer, Hope & Healing”
on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 starting at 6 p.m. at Christ Church Cathedral,
located at 35 Chestnut Street (near the Quadrangle).
The service will be a time to remember those we have lost and a time to
encourage survivors and responders affected by the recent tornados in Springfield,
West Springfield, Monson and surrounding communities. The Council is working in collaboration with the Interfaith Council of Western Massachusetts. Everyone is
invited to this service. Pastors and members whose congregations have been
affected will be there. Among the guest speakers at the Prayer, Hope and Healing
Service will be:

• Archbishop Timothy Paul – Orthodox Church
• Bishop Gordon Scruton – Episcopal Diocese of Western Mass
• Bishop Timothy McDonnell – Catholic Diocese of Springfield
• Bishop Margaret Payne – New England Synod Evangelical Church in America
• Reverend Peter Wells – Mass Conference United Church of Christ
• Mayors and government officials from across the State of Massachusetts
