Tyheem Marable, 20, of Springfield was charged with unarmed robbery after he allegedly stole a woman's wallet on Hancock Street early Thursday morning.
SPRINGFIELD - A 20-year-old Springfield man was arrested after he allegedly stole a wallet from a woman early Thursday morning.
According to Lt. James Rosso, the woman was walking on Hancock Street around 3:40 a.m. when she was approached by Tyheem Marable, 20, of 888 State St. He allegedly stole her wallet, almost knocking her down in the process, and ran away.
The woman, now without her cell phone, flagged down an officer and told him what had happened.
"The woman was able to provide a description and she said there was $250 cash, credit cards and her cell phone in the wallet," Rosso said. "Within 15 minutes, an officer located Marable walking and she was able to identify him as the man who robbed her."
Police recovered the woman's cell phone and credit cards, but only $44 was left in the wallet, Rosso said.
Marable was charged with unarmed robbery and held awaiting arraignment in Springfield District Court.
