A search was undertaken by Springfield and Agawam rescue boats and a state police helicopter.
SPRINGFIELD – A noontime report on Monday of a woman flailing her arms in the Connecticut River appeared to be a false alarm, Fire Department spokesman Dennis Leger said.
Leger said both Springfield and Agawam put rescue boats in the river after a woman on the Memorial Bridge reported she saw someone in the river.
A state police helicopter also was called, but the report appeared to be unfounded, Leger said.
