This NOAA satellite image taken Tuesday morning shows a low pressure system over southeastern Canada and northeastern U.S., with its cold front extending southwestward across the Ohio Valley. Showers and thunderstorms were developing near the low pressure center.SPRINGFIELD – The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties until 10 p.m. Tuesday.
Showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly after 4 p.m.
Some of the storms could produce small hail and gusty winds.
