Hightower's top backup, Tracy White, is also out.
The New England Patriots have ruled out rookie linebacker Dont’a Hightower and wide receiver Julian Edelman for Sunday's game against Seattle.Hightower, who has been fighting a hamstring injury, comes as a bit of a surprise. He was a game-time decision against Denver last week and said then that he was feeling no pain in his leg.
This creates an interesting situation since his backup, Tracy White, is also out with a foot injury.
Edelman has been battling a hand injury and returned to practice this week.
A decision also has to be made on tight end Aaron Hernandez, who is attempting to return from an ankle injury suffered in Week 2.
He made the trip to Seattle, and the feeling is that he will play, but how much and in what capacity is yet to be determined.
