Showers return tomorrow, then a quieter mid-week.
It will remain dry overnight as we are in-between fronts right now...the warm front that delivered rain this morning and the cold front that will deliver another batch of rain tomorrow afternoon. It will continue to stay mild overnight (no more freezes are in the 7-day forecast for now), with lows dropping to the lower-50s tonight.
Skies stay pretty gray on Monday, with the next round of showers expected to develop later in the afternoon. Out ahead of the cold front, warm air will continue flowing into the region, pushing our high temperatures close to 70 degrees in the Springfield area tomorrow despite the cloud cover. The showers will end and the skies clear out overnight after the front passes through.
A pretty quiet weather pattern evolves for mid-week. An area of high pressure coming into the region should keep us partly cloudy and seasonal through at least Thursday, then it becomes a little more unsettled with an area of low pressure coming in with some showers late-week.
Tonight: Variable clouds overnight, mild, low 52.
Monday: Mostly cloudy, scattered afternoon showers, breezy, high 71.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, cooler and breezy, high 59.
Wednesday: Partly cloudy, seasonal, high 62.
