Springfield firefighters use Jaws of Life to free crash victim on Hancock Street

SPRINGFIELD -- The driver of a Toyota Rav4 was removed from her vehicle with the Jaws of Life after a collision at the intersection of Union and Hancock streets, officials said.

Dennis Leger, executive aide to Fire Commissioner Joseph Conant, said the Toyota collided with a Honda CR-X around 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Both the driver and her passenger were transported to Baystate Medical Center, Leger said.
