The Forecast

The sky looks a little threatening right now here in Springfield, and the National Weather Service is calling for a chance of showers and thunderstorms later this morning and early this afternoon.

"Some storms could be severe, with hail, damaging winds, and frequent lightning," the forecast reads. A hazardous weather outlook statement warns of a "low probability" of severe thunderstorms this afternoon and evening.

Other than that, we're looking at another sunny and warm day, with highs near 90.

Tomorrow is expected to be sunny again, but cooler -- high temperatures will be just below 70.

Today's Poll

Appearing on the Today Show Tuesday, Mitt Romney called Barack Obama "one of the most ineffective presidents" he's ever seen.

Romney went on to say that he's confident he can beat Obama in the 2012 election.

Romney bolstered his argument by saying that Obama has squandered the opportunities arising from the recent protests in the Middle East. "The Arab spring came, one of the greatest opportunities we've seen in decades, and we've been flatfooted," Romney said.
