WEST SPRINGFIELD – Four women from North Adams, charged by police with stealing items from Kohl’s on Saturday night, denied the charges Tuesday in Springfield District Court.

All four suspects, charged with larceny over $250, were released on their own recognizance and ordered to return to court on June 2 for pre-trial hearings.

Sgt. Michael J. Banas said the incident began shortly after 7:30 p.m. when security personnel at the Riverdale Street store called police to report a shoplifting in progress.

Police arrested the women, who were allegedly in possession of some $750 worth of merchandise from Kohl’s, Banas said.

Police, searching the suspects’ vehicle, allegedly found over $1,000 in merchandise stolen from stores in the Holyoke Mall, including Victoria’s Secret, Old Navy, Charlotte Russe, Christmas Tree Shops, Target, Banas said.

Holyoke police were not immediately available to comment.

Those arrested were: Mary Siblia, 21; Taylor Miller, 19; Kristen Lynn Levesque; 22; and Meghan Gleason, 21; all live at 21 Blackington St., North Adams, according to police documents.
