The Wilbraham-based company has donated thousands of ice cream sundae cups to the town of Monson and schools damaged by the tornadoes.
Friendly's has shown their support for those affected by the June 1 tornadoes by helping out in many ways. Relief efforts have included bringing water and ice cream to area shelters and command centers, offering free meals to emergency responders including police, fire, National Guard members and National Grid employees.
The Wilbraham-based company has donated thousands of ice cream sundae cups to the town of Monson and schools damaged by the tornadoes. Along with accepting employee donations, Friendly's is collecting donations from approximately 140 restaurants ranging from Hartford to Boston. All monetary contributions will be matched by the company.
Today, Friendly's will be sending ice cream to the MassMutual Center shelter as a surprise for the children there.
